First, I used some Citrus Strip to strip the polyeurthane off. Then sanded it all down.
I cleaned of the handles with some Barkeeper's Friend.
I used some dark walnut stain with an old tshirt and some GLOVES! No more gouges in the top!
After sealing it with Spar Urethane, it can now be used as a buffet. Spar is completely waterproof! (BUT, don't use it on light colored paint, b/c it will yellow over time.)
